Approach: I use an eclectic approach by using aspects from many different theories in order to best fit the needs of the client. I believe that a foundation of a person-centered, strengths-based approach is important to facilitate a good therapeutic relationship and to assist clients in reaching their goals of creating a happier life for themselves.
Interests: I am interested working with adults and adolescents who struggle with symptoms of borderline personality disorder, trauma, anxiety and depression. I also enjoy working with those who struggle with day-to-day behaviors that interfere with quality of life like low self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship conflicts.
Favorite DBT Skill: Accumulate positives. Sometimes it’s the little things in life that make it all worth it like spending as little as five minutes a day playing with your pets. Accumulating positives can also be done with long-term in mind by identifying a goal that will help you reach a life worth living, one step at a time.
In my free time, I like to spend time with my horses (Finn and Koka), and play with my dog, Pippa.
