Approach: I believe every individual is intended for a life of fullness and wellness. This journey looks different for each person. Using an empathetic and directive style, my approach to therapy echoes the uniqueness that each of my clients possess. Together, we will work on leaving the pain of the past in the past, identifying your strengths and resources to stabilize you today, and developing your ability to see yourself in a positive future. To do so, I use approaches including but not limited to, CBT, DBT, Thought Field Therapy, Coherence Therapy and EMDR. It is a joy to see my clients realize the power of their choices as they create a life worth living.
Interests: PTSD, Complex Trauma, Anxiety Disorders (such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Panic Disorder), Depression, and Borderline Personality Disorder.
Favorite DBT Skill: Interpersonal Effectiveness skills DEAR MAN, GIVE, and FAST are some of my favorite DBT skills. Knowing how to effectively ask for what you want and saying "no" can be a challenge for many. These skills not only provide applicable steps to follow, they also provide insight on how to maintain relationships and your self respect in the process. Increasing your interpersonal effectiveness skills is a helpful step in creating a life worth living.
