Interpersonal Effectiveness


In the interpersonal effectiveness module of DBT you will learn skills to help you express yourself effectively while maintaining respect for yourself and others by using skills such as DEAR MAN (Describe, Express, Assert, Reinforce, Mindful, Appear Confident, Negotiate), GIVE (Gentle, Act Interested, Validate, Easy Manner), and FAST (Fair, No Apologies, Stick To Fairness, Truthful). By using these three skills, you will be able to express your needs clearly and be able to say no to unwanted requests.
