Approach: I work from a person-centered and strengths-based approach help clients identify, build upon, and utilize their strengths when meeting their personal goals. I strive to create a nonjudgmental space for clients to feel safe to fully express themselves and address their concerns. I have training in DBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care and I utilize each of these skills as they fit with each client.
Interests: I am interested in working with adults and young adults who have a history of trauma. As I continue my education and training in trauma-informed care, I want to work with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and other traumas, specifically. I’m also interested in working with individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, and gender and sexual identity issues. I am passionate about working with the LGBTQ population and those of a multicultural background, specifically biracial individuals.
