Approach: My approach to therapy is as unique as each client. I draw from many theories and styles, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), somatic experiencing, sand tray therapy, holistic wellness and a creative, strengths based approach, while creating a safe atmosphere for each client’s personal exploration. I am dedicated to supporting my clients on their journey toward positive change, finding new perspectives, and learning effective coping skills. I specialize in providing individual therapy and DBT skills creatively and interactively. I utilize sand tray therapy to help clients connect imagery and metaphor, as well as somatic experiencing, assisting the body in gaining an expanded ability to tolerate distress while releasing trauma that has been stored in the body.

Interests: I am interested in working with adults who struggle with symptoms of trauma, depression and anxiety, ineffective behavior patterns, life transitions, and an overall feeling of imbalance in life.

Favorite DBT Skill: Mindfulness is a skill that I use on a daily basis in my personal life. There are many daily activities that I do with a mindful approach, which has helped me learn how to slow down, live with more purpose and intention, and has helped me cultivate more gratitude in my life.

About Charlie
Hello everyone! My name is Charlie, and I am a one year old spaniel/poodle mix rescued from a local humane society. I love greeting our clients in the waiting room and being a part of our DBT groups, providing animal assisted activities. I still have my playful puppy energy, so sometimes I get excited and jump up on the waiting room couches to say hello. Thank you for your patience as I continue to go through training. I am really smart and I like to show off the tricks that I know, so feel free to invite me to sit, lay down, roll over, and give high fives!
